Project Snapshot: Hulcher Excavator Clears Vegetation Canopy Over Right-Of-Way

Project description

A canopy of tree limbs 35 feet over the right-of-way was interfering with double-stack rail cars and ground brush had grown close to the tracks. Hulcher deployed an excavator with a mulching and cutting head attachment. With this attachment, the excavator was able to cut back the branches above the right-of-way while clearing and mulching the ground scrub as well. Because the excavator worked off track, it was able to complete the seven-mile vegetation control project without interrupting the railroad’s schedule.
