Grade stabilization and erosion control is a service line that covers a broad range of projects, from the restoration of a single bridge headwall to an elaborate water run-off and soil stabilization project spanning 150 miles of track.
Whatever your needs for grade stabilization and erosion control, Hulcher Services has the right equipment so support your project.
Our vibratory hammer pile driver is the perfect solution for driving sheet pile and steel beams at your stabilization projects. It can work with your crews or operate independently to stabilize eroding soil on embankments, in creek beds and around bridge headwalls.
Our excavators perform a wide range of tasks, including ditching and culvert work, excavation and construction of French drains and other drainage systems. Other equipment used on grade stabilization and erosion control projects includes undercutters and dozers.
Hulcher is the right choice whether your project calls for grading, bringing in fill dirt, hauling out waste materials or clearing debris from culverts and creek beds.
With our strategically positioned locations and experienced railroad operators, Hulcher’s heavy hardware can integrate with your crews and expand your ability to complete all the Maintenance of Way (MOW) projects you need to get done.
As you program your grade stabilization and MOW projects, call 800-637-5471 and talk to one of our business professionals to see how Hulcher can help extend your track maintenance resources and help restore your tracks to their full capabilities.
|Case Study - Pile Driver With Rail
The railroad was concerned about a 100-foot stretch of track along a highway where the embankment was crumbling into the road. They quickly determined that grade stabilization was needed, and proposed a unique solution: they would use pieces of recycled rail to stabilize the soil rather than invest in new H-beams or sheet pile. The railroad looked to Hulcher Services to assist with this unconventional approach to lift and drive recycled rail.

A significant erosion issue was causing the railroad to lose track profile adjacent to the headwall at one corner of a bridge. They needed an experienced railroad contractor to build up and stabilize the bank around the headwall.
