Vacuum Truck

Hulcher Services Inc. maintains a fleet of custom designed Guzzler High-Rail Vacuum Trucks that can be mobilized to the most remote areas not accessible by road. Our capabilities range from simple track cleaning to emergency derailment and environmental cleanups. Our units are perfectly designed to perform railroad vac truck services, as well as grain transfer and cleanup services for the grain industry, and spill and cleanup services for various other industries as well.

Our vac trucks are rail-ready, boom equipped, self-contained vehicles that use vacuum power to remove contaminated and unwanted materials. Material removed is stored in the High-Rail's large collection tank for subsequent treatment and disposal or reuse. Unlike other units, which are configured solely for track use, the Guzzler High-Rail Vacuum Truck operates on both rail and road. Within minutes, the Guzzler High-Rail Truck can be converted from road-ready to rail-ready.

When it comes time to transfer grain, Hulcher Services maintains transfer grain trucks within the network. Hulcher Services has high volume self-contained grain vacuum units that can quickly transfer grain from storage areas or railcars to anywhere you need the product.

Hulcher Service's highly trained operators know how to get the job done safely and in compliance with all health and safety regulations. We provide everything required in performing this work, from personal protective equipment and fall protection to confined space entry equipment.

More information on hi-rail vacuum trucks

Case Study: Hi-Rail Vacuum Truck Cleans Locomotive Service Terminal Work Bay - A sump pump broke at a locomotive servicing terminal, allowing fluids from the engines to collect in the service bay’s trough. The customer needed a hi-rail vacuum truck to clean out the trough so the pump could be replaced.

Case Study: Air Excavation / Vacuum Truck - Chronic mud problems created potentially dangerous softness and flex in the rail for one railroad company, especially on those stretches of track that ran along a river. The situation became more dire after flooding added to the mud in these areas. Unfortunately, the steep banks on either side of the track did not permit the use of an off-track undercutter.

Project Snapshot: Grapple Truck and Backhoe Break Down Track Panels - The railroad had more than 30 damaged track panels that needed to be demolished. Hulcher deployed a grapple truck and backhoe to break down the track panels and separate out the materials for recycling or reuse.
