Transfers - Hulcher transfers grain, fertilizers, chemicals, paper, lumber, steel, pipe, finished goods, auto parts and more. We are expert at moving materials from railcar to railcar or rail to truck while maintaining product integrity.
Clean Up - We can deploy at any time day or night for recovery operations following a derailment, bin collapse or other spill; our crews can be on the road one hour after your call. We can sort or segregate materials, recondition product, and do site restoration, remediation and clean up.
Load Adjustments and Reductions - We follow AAR guidelines to ensure that every load is adjusted and secured to minimize hazards.
Bulk Transfer - Hulcher's hi-rail Neuero transfer vacuum trucks transfer bulk commodities such as dry, liquid, grain, or even food-grade materials.
Tie Down - Hulcher loads out and ties down various materials and equipment including vehicles, pipe, steel, wood, roofing materials and paper, in accordance with AAR Intermodal Loading Criteria.
Hulcher is insured in all 50 states. Our crews have safety certifications from all Class 1 railroads and years of experience working in railroad and industrial environments.
Hulcher has 38 locations and 250+ pieces of heavy Caterpillar® equipment around the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Our transfer equipment includes pneumatic and belt conveyors, forklifts, excavators, grapple trucks, dump trucks, cranes, vacuum trucks, and telehandlers. Project Snapshot - Hulcher Excavator and Crew Perform Load Adjustment of Steel Pipes - A load of steel pipes had shifted during transit and needed to be reloaded so it would be properly balanced. Hulcher Services deployed a Caterpillar® 325D excavator and crew.
Project Snapshot - Hulcher Forklift and Crew Perform Load Adjustment on Load of Roofing Tiles - Eighteen pallets of roofing tiles on a center beam railcar shifted during transit, crushing their pallets and damaging the banding. Hulcher sent a crew of five personnel, a forklift, replacement pallets and a banding machine to remedy the problem.
Project Snapshot - Telehandler and Conveyor Perform Load Reduction of Alfalfa Pellets - The railroad needed a load of alfalfa pellets to be reduced by 10,000 lbs. Hulcher deployed a Caterpillar® TH560B telehandler, a conveyor and a haul truck.
Case Study - Hulcher Crews Perform Tie Down Work on Military Heavy Equipment - The U.S. Army was deploying military hardware from two installations. The military needed an experienced railroad contractor who understood the regulatory requirements for properly tying down heavy equipment on railcars.
Project Snapshot - Hulcher Performs Loading and Tie Down of Hopper Cars - The railroad retired two hopper cars and needed a contractor to load them to a flat car for transport to the scrap yard.
